Garment Rack / July 18, 2018 / Eila Paasio
Hanger for outside room especially for sun-drying is generally made of strong material that is not easily broken. Metal hanger is more appropriate to be used in outside room since it is more resistant in the changeable weather than other materials mainly if it is compared to those made of plastic. The best material for inside-room hanger is made from plastic. Though this material is not strong enough it is safer to keep the clothes inside your cupboard. It is fine if you use the metal ones. However unless you are careful you can tear your clothes. In this case the material of clothes also concerns which type of hanger suitable for them. For instance cotton is more appropriate to be hanged by using wood hanger. Meanwhile clothes made of silk are better hanged by using plastic ones. When you need hanger for hanging your clothes dont forget to store them. You can place them in a cupboard or clothes rack.
So often I worry what is happening when I put clothes in a tumble dryer. On holiday I used one to dry towels and holiday clothing. After successive loads the filter was jammed with fibres with different layers of colours like those bottles you often see for sale with different layers of coloured sand. Clothes airers dont remove the fibres from my clothing and household items so they do not lose their shape or their strength. I have noticed that over time continued use of a tumble dryer reduced the useful life of my clothes. Drying racks come in wall mounted floor standing or multiway washing line versions. All drying racks dry clothes naturally or if placed above or next to a household wall heater will have the benefit of secondary heat and warm air drying.
The washing machine manufacturers called them Tub watchers. Because they loved to handle the clothes to make sure they were properly washed! When my Mum gave in and we bought her an automatic she would sit and watch it go round for ages. When the tumble dryer arrived we didnt realise how it baked our clothes and removed fibres And the bills my goodness how electricity costs pile up. Well frankly I could kick myself with all these years of excess. The clothes airer is such a natural way of drying. It fits beautifully with my day and takes only minutes to fill. Then I simply get on with the rest of my tasks. The strange thing is it gives me more time to do other things. It simply means there is a long gap between hanging laundry and taking it off the rack. Instead of a day filled with washing and drying it becomes an overnight wash followed by a day of drying.
